I know in the Spanish translation, Dumbledore is Profesor Silencio because the translator based it on the "dumb" part of his name. Probably the reason for French translation of Bumblebee is because JKR mentioned that Dumbledore was an Old English word for bumblebee.

Yeah, I seriously heard about the reasoning behind it almost immediately after I posted that.
